Nothing constructive is going to happen until the auto industry gets serious in being competitive with the foreign makers, that is, the domestic plants of Toyota, Honda, et al. Some major differences? No union contracts, no big-time retiree burdens, etc. Does this apply, for the unions....would you rather have X% of something, or 100% of nothing? GM, Ford, Chrysler will be out of money soon and it's time to have some major, gut-wrenching change. How about somebody giving my struggling small company some $$? Our employees need their jobs too!!
